Coming at you with some Honey Butter Hot Chicken Biscuits! This simple recipe is all you need for a quick and easy and delicious meal that's all gas, no brakes on the flavor. Clocking in at 400 calories, 40g of protein, 35g of carbs, and 12g of fat per sandwich, this might be one of the healthier fried chicken biscuits you'll eat!
Here's what you'll need:
- Chicken breast
- Red Lobster's Honey Butter Biscuit Mix
- Bread crumbs
- Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning (we used Member's Mark)
- Egg Beaters (or regular egg whites or whole eggs)
- Fat-free American cheese (or any cheese of your choice!)
- Honey
- An air-fryer
Directions:
1. Make the biscuits.
Preheat your oven to 350℉. Mix and combine one box of the Red Lobster Honey Butter Biscuit mix with 2 cups of the Egg Beaters according to the box's instructions. Place the mix into muffin tins or your preferred biscuit baking container and place into the preheated oven to cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
2. Prep the chicken.
Cut and trim any excess membrane, skin, and fat. On a flat surface, pound out the chicken breast in between plastic wrap, or in a large sandwich bag, into a 1/4-inch thickness with a meat mallet, rolling pin, or small skillet. Portion the flattened chicken into 4-5 ounce portions.
3. Cook the chicken.
Mix bread crumbs and the Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning together. Use as much seasoning as you'd like! (We recommend lots so it's nice and spicy.) Dip your flattened chicken breast into an eggwash before coating it with the bread crumb mixture. Air fry the chicken at 400℉ for 8-10 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
4. Assembly time!
Slice your biscuit in half and slap that chicken on top! Top with fat-free American cheese and a drizzle of honey and close that sucker up. Prepare your mouth for some deliciousness and enjoy!
