Working out your upper body is just as important as working out your lower body. When it comes to the arms, there are two main muscles: triceps and biceps. The tricep, which is the muscle on the back of the upper arm, is much larger, and in fact takes up 2/3 of the arm. It is what connects to the elbow for the extension of our arms. Working out these muscles helps increase general arm and shoulder strength, improve flexibility, and increase range of motion.
There are three heads of the tricep, each with slightly different functions. The Long Head is the biggest and attaches at your shoulder, the Lateral is on the outside of the arm, and the Medial is the smallest and originates at the inside of your arm.
Aubrie's 3 favorite tricep exercises includes the rope tricep push downs, overhead tricep extensions, and hands together push down. These exercises are a great addition to an arm day to get those things pumped in less than 30 minutes!
Not everyone has 2 hours to spend at the gym but by doing only a couple tricep and bicep exercises you can get your arms in tip-top shape! Check out the video to see how to perform these exercises.
